Summer 2011 Studio Lineup

May 02, 2011

We have a full lineup of Studios for you to choose from this summer! Schedule a summer getaway with us and come home ready to dive right into new projects. We can’t promise cute drinks with little umbrellas in the Studio, but you can wear your flip-flops! Check out these upcoming public courses:

Clojure Programming Studio

June 22-24 in Reston, VA

If you’re a Java programmer who cares about concurrency, or a Ruby or Python programmer who enjoys low-ceremony languages, then you’ll love Clojure. And there’s no better way to learn how to write good Clojure applications than by spending three days with Stuart Halloway and Stuart Sierra. You’ve heard about Clojure and functional programming. This is your chance to really get into it and learn directly from the experts!

Ruby on Rails II: Real-World Techniques

June 22-25 in Denver, CO

July 26-29 in Reston, VA

Learn the best practices and techniques used by acclaimed Rails experts Dave Thomas and Chad Fowler in this 4-day course. If you’ve written a Rails app or two, but you’re bumping into issues as you try to add more “advanced” features you’ve seen in real-world apps, then this is the next course for you!

Ruby on Rails

August 17-19 in Reston, VA

If you’re new to Rails, or having trouble putting all the pieces of your first app together, then this 3-day course will get you started on the right foot. You’ll come away ready to build your own Rails apps: from idea to deployment. You’ll not only learn the mechanics of Rails, you’ll also understand how everything goes together to create well-designed Rails apps.

iPhone/iPad Programming

July 18-21 in Reston, VA

The iOS SDK just keeps getting better, and you’ll learn all the latest tools and best practices in this 4-day course. With guided instruction from Daniel Steinberg and Matt Drance, you’ll learn how to build well-designed iOS apps using Xcode 4, Objective-C, Cocoa Touch, and the APIs included in the iOS SDK. You’ll come away not just knowing how to use these powerful tools, but also why things are the way they are so can confidently build and create apps like the pros.

Hope you see you this summer!
