The Pragmatic Studio

New Private Courses

October 01, 2009

In addition to our public courses, we also offer courses on demand in a private team setting. And we’re always on the lookout for practical tools to help teams excel. Today we’re excited to announce three new private courses, taught by experts in their field:

  • Erlang in Practice: We live in a chaotic world that often requires concurrent, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems. Designing these systems with traditional programming languages just doesn’t scale. Erlang is a functional programming language designed for the massively-parallel, networked applications of the future. Invest in Erlang now, and you’ve got a jump on the competition. Kevin Smith, an experienced Erlang developer, will teach your team how to effectively apply Erlang on your projects in this three-day course.

  • Transitioning to Git: Version control systems should work with you, not against you. Git is a distributed version control system (DVCS) that helps your developers be more productive and efficient. And that translates into short and long-term benefits across your projects. Scott Chacon, a leading expert on Git, will help your team quickly transition to Git and use it to your advantage in this two-day course.

  • ExpressionEngine: You don’t need to be a programmer, a database administrator, or a systems expert to build dynamic websites that scale. ExpressionEngine is a flexible content management system (CMS) used by web designers in the know. It lets you design, deploy, and manage your websites without fuss. Ryan Irelan, a noted ExpressionEngine expert and developer, will help your team of web designers and developers quickly get up to speed on ExpressionEngine in this three-day course.

These courses are currently available for private, on-site training sessions. You’ll get the same top-shelf instructors and content you’ve come to expect from The Pragmatic Studio, taught at your location and on your schedule. Now, we realize training budgets can be tight this time of year (especially this year). If this is the case at your company, we hope that by announcing these courses now you’ll have time to encourage your manager to consider these courses in next year’s budget.
