Today we’re excited to announce the Pragmatic Studio Job Network: an effective way to find and post jobs that specifically require the tools we teach folks to use—Ruby and Rails!

We always love to hear about apps that Pragmatic Studio alumni build, and a few weeks back Mike Mangino (Chicago ‘06) sent us an email describing the site he was building for the startup he joined. Their site (JobCoin) allows you to embed a job board into your existing web site. It’s just what we were looking for to help this community make career connections, and all the better that the job board is the handiwork of an alum!

But it gets even better. We hope to use this as an opportunity to make connections in the world around us, too. So all profits of the job board will be donated equally among various charities. We chose some of the most popular charities selected by folks who attended the Rails Guidebook at RailsConf.

The new job board is open to everyone and drop-dead simple to use…

  • View and post jobs on the job board.
  • Subscribe to the RSS feed to get notified of new postings.
  • Share the full scoop with other folks!

Alumni can always post jobs for their projects for free. If you know of other projects looking for top Ruby and Rails talent, they can post a job for only $100 (a $150 discount) through the end of October. Periodically we’ll report back on how much has been donated to these great causes.

We hope this keeps hot Ruby and Rails opportunities flowing from our Studio to yours, and perhaps we can all make a difference along the way.

Enjoy!
